Dragon Pong Tournament!

Welcome to VENOM’s first ever Dragon Pong tournament!
Anyone, beginner or expert is welcome to enter the tournament. See below for specifics of the contest. If you are not familiar with Dragon Pong, you can learn more and download the game here.

When does the tournament take place?

The tournament will stream live starting at 12:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, December 17. We ask that all contestants be available during the entire time to allow them to progress.
Contestants must also be available at 11:15 AM Eastern for a technical setup and troubleshooting session. This is to alleviate stress during the contest and minimize technical complications on air.

How does the tournament work?

Each contestant will be assigned an opponent for the first round, and will receive the schedule of matches and opponents during the tournament warmup at 11:15 AM. Each match in round 1 will end after one person reaches a score of 5 points. The contestant who reaches 5 points first is considered the winner of the match, and will progress to the next round.
Each winner will be assigned a new opponent for the upcoming round, and given an approximate call time for their next match. Gameplay will get slightly longer. Matches in the quarter finals are played to 7 points, semifinals are played to 11 points, and the final match is played to 21 points.
If a contestant is not present at their call time, is known to be disrupting their opponent or any contestant during gameplay, or faces technical difficulties that cannot be resolved, they will forfeit their match and their opponent will automatically progress to the next round.
In addition to the contestants, each match will have two commentators present. Listeners will not be allowed in the competition channel, but there will be an area for listeners to watch the tournament together.

Prizes

The first place winner will receive $50 cash. The second place winner will receive $25 cash.
